Parameters

item: Type: SystemString
Item name.
formatProvider: Type: SystemIFormatProvider
IFormatProvider to use when converting the item's value to a string.

Return Value

Type: String
The value of item as a string, if defined; otherwise Empty.

Remarks

If formatProvider is null and the value isn't a String already, this call locks the LogFactory for reading the DefaultCultureInfo needed for converting to String.
